Hello OWFI!
I'm your brand new president, Sabrina Fish. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a Fantasy & Romance author. I have a Fantasy Romance novel, Diomere's Exile, due to be published through The Wild Rose Press later this year, and 3 YA Fantasy novellas published in William Bernhardt's multi-author Shine series that you can learn more about at my website, www.SabrinaAFish.com. I own a successful trophy and awards company, Awards Solutions of Oklahoma, LLC, in Oklahoma City as my day job where I collect names from lists of award's recipients for my novels. I'm mom of what I consider the most beautiful 10 year old boy, IMO, and the wife of almost 11 years to one of the most supportive husbands out there. To learn more about me, you can find me across numerous social media platforms. Please do come say hi!!!
I'm SO excited to start this amazing journey with you!! After all, it's not every year that you're given the honor of putting together a 50th year celebration. That you've selected me is beyond humbling. This year's theme is about celebrating where we've come from and looking forward to the future to come. And I am here to tell you that OWFI has an amazing future!
Last year, as I learned all about the nuts and bolts of OWFI under our fan-tabulous past-president, Christine Jarmola, I MIGHT have experienced some second thoughts on taking the reins myself for such an important year. Even after I decided to go for it, part of me still wondered what the heck I thought I was doing!
But fate sure has a funny way of telling you to buck up, buttercup, because pulling the Empress Card at Ruth Week's Tarot Card/Paranormal Buzz session this last weekend couldn't have been a clearer sign.
And I wouldn't dare argue with fate!
My team and I plan to hit the ground running this summer, so I hope you're ready for a grand adventure because I don't do anything half way. And boy do we have some ideas for rocking OWFI's 50th year!!!
I already miss you all SO much and it's only been a couple of days since our last conference ended. SO, I plan to make more opportunities for us all to get together throughout the year!!
Coming up this summer will be our first OWFI Virtual Workshop.
I'm still working out the details so be sure to stay tuned if that sounds as fantastic to you as it does me! (Hint: TOR editor, Bess Cozby, has agreed to be our 1st virtual speaker!!! Squeee!!)
Thanks again for trusting me to lead you into our 50th year. I'm determined to make it a fun ride!
