February 9, Mike Hinkle will be the special speaker at the Pen and Keyboard Writers regular meeting. Mike is the author of The Butane Gospel; was a former weekly columnist for The Edmond Sun; is regular contributor to Boomer Living; engaged in a life-long quest for the perfect pie, the smoothest bourbon, good music, eccentric characters, and the magic lamp. After retiring as an attorney, he received his MFA from Oklahoma City University.
Affiliate and OWFI member Vivian Zabel's children's book Where Did Panther Go? earned the gold seal from Literary Classics. Thousands of entries from many countries are judged each year, and a limited number make the finals, earning gold or silver seals in eleven categories. Vivian's book received its honor in Children's Picture Books.
