Improving the Quality of Our Suffering: Poetry Crash Course (Virtual Workshop)

“The world is a hellish place, and bad writing is destroying the quality of our suffering.” —Tom Waits.

This is a crash course in poetry. After this workshop, you will have a better understanding of what it takes to read, write, and critique poetry. We’ll discuss everything from classic poets, like Edgar Allan Poe and Robert Frost, to contemporary poets like Nikita Gill and Beyoncé. No preparation or prior knowledge needed. Start fresh, and come out confident, with Adrean Messmer as your guide.

Adrean Messmer is an award-winning poet who loves getting lost in beautiful words.
